According to Iranian Youth Cinema Society, ‘Rahmat creel’ by Behzad Alavi will take part in the CCFF’s documentary section.
Alavi’s ‘Wooden Sword’ and ‘A Beautiful’ (Yek ziba) will also participate in the festival.
The pair will take part in the CCFF’s fiction short film section along with ‘Sayyed’ by Hassan Masaebi and Kivan Sorouri’s ‘Redundancy’.
In the festival’s animation section, ‘Darker than Black’, ‘Not Winter’ and ‘Password’, all directed by Iranian director Hassan Mokhtari will be screened.
Meanwhile, four films from Iran were selected to be screened at the event’s student and experimental section, bringing to 12 the number of Iranian films which will compete in the CCFF.
The four films are ‘The Dance of the Doll’ by Saeed Bahman, ‘Bridge’ and Siavash Eidani’s ‘The Note’ (Yaddasht) in addition to ‘Bahman’ by Seyyed-Morteza Sabz-Qaba.
According to an online submission platform, the CCFF is “an opportunity for independent filmmakers and the art community at large to celebrate the beauty of the art of cinema”.
The 1st edition of Coal City Film Festival will take place on March 25-27.
